‘COMPROMISED’- THE BRAND NEW SINGLE FROM NIKKI WISHART
Nikki Wishart’s new single, Compromised, is captivating and dreamy in all the best ways possible. The singer-songwriter has made her entrance in 2022 with a new-found, fresh sound as it marks the beginning of the next chapter of her exciting journey.
Compromised is raw, real and relevant. It’s a song everyone can sympathise with and get emotional over, purely because it holds such strong resonance with relationships and the emotional toll they can leave.
A collaborative track written by Wishart and fellow RSOM Community member, Noah Vernon (Anxiety, Different Time), the new single is a breakthrough as it is a result of the songwriter’s determination and hard work to make her dreams a reality. The single follows a beautiful melodic story with delicate vocals and simple elements before building tastefully as the story progresses. Dynamically, it ticks all the boxes; it features great harmonies, a strong sense of direction, subtle builds in dynamics and finishes so sweet. A satisfying end to a beautiful song, by the time you reach the end, you feel like you have gone along on the journey right beside the artist.
Compromised is current, and fits in nicely with the soft pop ballads being released by killer female artists at the moment. The thing that sticks out the most in the new track is the ambience, it’s what makes Compromised that much more enjoyable. There’s a great sense of space throughout this track, everything works so well together and harmoniously supports and highlights Wishart’s soft vocals.
2021 saw a huge year of development for Wishart as she opened herself up to endless opportunities through collaborations which even saw the Melbourne artist move interstate to her new home in Sydney. With the guidance of RSOM Founder Jena Marino, Wishart planned, performed and succeeded to find her voice, sound and place in the music industry. The new release is a milestone moment as it reveals an exciting new sound and direction for the artist. It is a true representation of her maturity, self development as an artist in the Australian music scene and we are so excited to see what is coming next.
