Meet Jena – Founder, Artist Mentor, and ‘Mother of the Music Community”

Hi,
I'm Jena!

Hi, I’m Jena. I’m the Founder of RSOM, Melbourne’s leading songwriting community.

I’ve always loved music, and for nearly 12 years I’ve been helping emerging artists turn their passion into real opportunities, booking first performances, releasing their music independently, forming collaborations, and connecting with producers, co-writers, managers, and other vital industry contacts.

I’ve performed all over the world and know just how intimidating it can be to put yourself out there. That’s why RSOM exists. It’s a safe space to grow, connect, and be heard.

My passion for music and supporting artists also comes with the backing of a Bachelor of Journalism, Diploma of Music Performance, and a Graduate Diploma of Business in Arts and Cultural Management (yes, I’ve been busy!).

Through our program The Release Academy, I’ve guided over 30 songwriters to independently release their own music, while empowering countless others with the skills, confidence, and knowledge to take control of their careers and create their own success.

I’ve also featured as a guest speaker for Music Victoria, APRA AMCOS, and Wild At Heart Community Group, and I proudly serve as an ambassador for the mental health music charity Listen Up Music.

I’m constantly inspired by the talent and ambition of RSOM members, and I’m here to make sure no artist has to navigate the industry alone.

I’d love to have you join us.

Community is power.

The right community can change everything for an artist.

At RSOM, we’ve seen it firsthand, collaborations formed, gigs booked, industry relationships built. But beyond all of that, it’s a space where people feel seen, supported, and reminded they’re not doing this alone.

Watch below to see how RSOM helped Nikki find her feet and her voice in the Melbourne music scene.

  • "Jena’s dedication, commitment and passion for supporting emerging songwriters and fostering a nurturing and welcoming community is one that we believe is very important towards the growth and sustainability of emerging songwriters in the Victorian live music scene."

    Dale Packard, Music Victoria.

  • "I have worked with Jena for a number of years since the development of her program and have been impressed by her dedication to supporting the arts through her impressive solo contribution. From performing at one of the first RSOM Live gigs, to having Jena help with PR and marketing for my first EP release, to seeing RSOM flourish into having consistently sold out showcase nights, industry networking sessions and successful PR launches in the artists she supports."

    — Emilia Schnall, singer/songwriter.

  • "We are humbled to be able to work with someone who genuinely cares about the development of artists and who equally, has the skill set to create opportunities for those artists, assisting them in the growth of their projects and giving them a platform to share their creative vision and art form with an inbuilt and engaged community."

    — Anthony Agostino and Christina Rinaldi, Cartel Management

  • "Jena is always encouraging and supportive of the songwriters she works with, and her vibrant personallity and natural ability to communicate with an audience, helps steer each event she runs. Through conversations I have had with RSOM members, they are appreciative of the opportunities RSOM provides. It is also clear that they thoroughly respect the experience and enthusiasm that Jena brings to her role."
