THE MAMAS RELEASE HOT NEW SINGLE, ‘TRASH’
Make some room for The Mamas and their iconic new tune, Trash. The Melbourne based powerhouse group have delivered yet again with another show stopping, head bopping banger that’s sure to be a summer favourite!
With nods to late 90s/early 2000’s girl band vibes, tantalising keys, smooth beats and slick guitar lines, there’s just too much to love in this new tune .Trash highlights everything great about music; it has soul, it has spice and it’s an empowering anthem for females near and far that have been hung out to dry by their not so nice male buddies. The track is jam packed with attitude, satirical lyrics, beautifully executed vocals and an overall fierce edge. Something that catches the ears attention in this new track and draws a smirk out, are the comical elements sprinkled throughout. From the addition of the voice message, spoken lyrics, feisty lyrics like “I know I'm too good for you I will not waste time on you I am too busy, too hot and too cool for you”, there’s just so much to love and appreciate.
Every musical element in Trash has been executed so cleanly, (how ironic). There’s an incredibly strong backbone created from both the melodic and harmonic keys, that really does enhance the sense soul throughout the track. The rhythm throughout Trash is unbelievably catchy, making it impossible not to jam along and feel every work, note and musical motif.
With past hits like Banana Club and Sneans, the powerhouse funk, soul and RnB group have done such an incredible job at claiming their new sound by coming in hot with such huge dynamics. Right from the get go, Trash is captivating and instantly gets those endorphins up, an incredible effect to have! And even though the girls talk about social issues through their music, they’re always able to do it in a light hearted, comical way, which again, is something to bow down too.
