IZZY HOLLINGDALE RELEASES NEW SINGLE ‘STALL’

‘Stall’, the latest single from Izzy Hollingdale, shows her vulnerable side in this intimate pop ballad.

Released on the 5th of August, ‘Stall’ marks Izzy Hollingdale’s first release since 2019, and provides the perfect re-entry back into the music scene.

Described as her “lockdown baby,” Hollingdale wrote the song in between lockdowns, and put into lyrics all the thoughts, feelings and emotions she felt during this time of unknowing.

The fears we felt once the lockdown was lifted, and the loneliness that never seemed to leave after months of isolation come to the forefront of ‘Stall’, with lyrics such as, “This song was supposed to be about falling in love with somebody new / but I’m still too scared to venture outside my room.”

Alongside Hollingdale’s voice is her piano, which starts off soft and slow before building as the song progresses through to the chorus. Writing the song herself, her thoughts and feelings come to the surface perfectly in her chorus “I’m sick of sitting in my room / sick of talking in my head / sick of singing to my walls” “So I stall, and it will be my downfall”.

Originally from Perth, Izzy Hollingdale is a young talented singer/songwriter who is making strides in the indie pop scene. Taking inspiration from lockdowns, heartbreak, early bedtimes and adulthood, she accompanies her songs with her piano and creates an intimate experience for you when you listen.

Taking inspiration from Gretta Ray and Missy Higgins, Izzy Hollingdale makes the kind of music that tugs at your heartstrings, and describes her own music as “moody cry your heart out soft bangers”, which perfectly encapsulates everything ‘Stall’ is.

Recorded at Newmarket Studios, ‘Stall’ is a memorable track that is guaranteed to be relatable to every Melbournian. Check out ‘Stall’ and more of Izzy’s work below.
