ABBEY ROSE RELEASE SOPHOMORE SINGLE, ‘NOT INTERESTED’
An anthem for all things ending, with toxicity.
Following the release of her second single ‘That’s Your Problem’ in April, Independent Melbourne artist Abbey Rose, is back with ‘Not Interested’ an R&B Rock infused jam that’s big, loud, and straight to the point. As a Canadian born, Darwin-raised songwriter and performer, making music in Melbourne/Naarm, ‘Not Interested’ is a continuation of Abbey’s influences of hip-hop and jazz, with added additions of rich lyricism, catchy hooks and dynamic grooves. The track speaks on coming to terms with the realisation that people in your life aren’t really who they seem, something that Abbey herself has experienced.
“This song is for anyone who’s had to extract themselves from a poisonous friendship. It’s based on personal experience - I was devastated when I realised one of my best friends had been a wolf in sheep’s clothing all along”.
Naturally being the self proclaimed “raging scorpio,” Abbey uses the opportunity to clap back at the toxicity that once plagued her life with exciting punchy leads and perfectly toned electric guitars that sit nicely within the mix as the raging rhythm from the drum’s rounds at the track nicely with precision and flare. The use of sassiness within lines like ‘“Clean out your mouth before you say my name,” adds serious oomph to the song’s character which further demonstrate Abbey’s capabilities of writing compelling stories.
“If something feels wrong and you’re starting to wonder if your love and loyalty are being reciprocated, I hope you can take courage, listen to your heart, and put yourself first!”
A genuine soulful artist with a real vocal presence, Abbey Rose creates hype in this fiery new track ‘Not Interested’.
Abbey Rose will be performing at The Brunswick Ballroom with Montana Sharp on September 8th and alongside High Homes on October 22nd.
