Joshua Batten 'Learn to Live Again' Album Launch @ Melbourne Fringe Festival

  • The MC Showroom 48 Clifton Street Prahran, VIC, 3181 Australia (map)

With Learn To Live Again, Joshua Batten has made the autobiographical statement he’s always wanted to. The sprawling song cycle is an eclectic mix of songs that tell a cohesive story about the challenges and acceptance of mental health and neurodiversity, set against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic. The story chronicles Joshua’s experience as a working musician on the Autism Spectrum, and how the pandemic forced him to revaluate his priorities and ambitions, to a point where he could be more independent and forgiving of himself. It's Joshua’s journey, but one which resonates far and wide beyond the personal.

Joshua will launch the album with a series of semi-acoustic performances at the MC Showroom, stripping back the heavy production and allowing the story to take centre stage with his insightful lyrics and uplifting melodies. Accompanied by multi-instrumentalists Franca Locandro and Ayden Gadsen, this is Joshua Batten at his most creative, most introspective, and most honest.
