With the roadmap now in place, you might be wondering what this means for you as either a performer, crew member, business owner or simply, an attendee within the Victorian live music industry.

Joining us at our October Networking Night on Thursday October 21 is CEO of Music Victoria, Simone Schinkel. A woman who is passionately advocating for the survival of our live music industry, The Real Songwriters of Melbourne are very honoured to have Simone join RSOM to talk to our community.

With the future of the live music industry hanging in the balance, we understand that there are a lot of questions and concerns as to how this is going to affect us once Stage 4 restrictions end. We hope that this night can alleviate some of these questions and concerns.

A professional arts leader, Simone has a celebrated reputation for strategic sector development, and a commitment to equity and justice. Simone came to Music Victoria from Theatre Network Australia where, as General Manager, she drove the sectors’ COVID 19 response which centred on fundraising efforts and providing essential cash grants to those most impacted. One of her lasting legacies will be the formation of a national alliance of arts industry councils to provide a national advocacy platform. She holds a Master of Arts and Cultural Management, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in technical production, is an alumni of the Australia Council’s Emerging Leaders Development Program and Co-convenor of the Arts Industry Council of Victoria.
