‘LOVE ON PAPER’- NEW SINGLE FROM GEORGE CHARRA

RSOM Community member George Charra’s new single Love on Paper indicates a step forward in developing the lo-fi pop sound that he is renowned for in the Melbourne music community. Out now on all major digital platforms, Love on Paper expresses the feeling of moving on to someone new.

Layered with soft instrumentals and a more assured voice, Charra flexes his skills for music production showing why he has already been involved with the biggest acts in the Melbourne music scene.

Love on Paper is a culmination of years of self-taught music development for Charra. Comparing this track to Charra’s last single ‘Old School Mind’ there is an immediate step up in confidence that can be sensed. The formula and sound are still there, however especially in the voice of Charra there is more assuredness in what is being shown here. This is evident in the production as well, with more flare on display such as the little laughs that play after every ‘wishing that it was you’ this track shows new layers to an already established sound.

Instrumentally this song is reminiscent of tracks you would here from LAUV, Joji and similar lo-fi pop artists with soft pianos, strings along with an up beat tempo that kicks on the chorus. Produced brilliantly by Charra it is evident that this sound is where he feels most at home.

Lyrically this track also see’s Charra take it to the next level in his discography. A very personal recount of the task of moving on ‘forgetting how I miss you’ the song brilliantly details the conflict of moving on and remembering a past love. Charra’s voice suits this production style brilliantly with low smooth vocals that have developed in confidence since the last single. Just as Charra has been growing in the Melbourne music scene, his voice is as well with more inflection and character that help develop the message of this song greatly.

Don’t forget to check out this new single Love on Paper and be sure to see George hit the decks at our End of Year show on Friday December 10. Head to our Events page to book your spot.
